Some of you may have heard the Radio 2 discussion this week about sky lanterns. As usual, and in common with fireworks, they generated both positive and negative feedback. Some people said they thought they were a beautiful and silent alternative to fireworks whereas others complained about them. We say that they are a beautiful alternative and increasingly popular as more and more people get to know about them. Lots of people use them at weddings or funerals and a common thing is to write a message to your loved one on the lantern then and send it to the sky. A wonderful way to commemorate a special occasion or person.
