We regularly check out our competitors offerings and we also keep an eye on the supermarkets. In the main this is not a like for like comparison as the supermarkets tend to stock smaller selection boxes and small rockets from different suppliers to the ones we stock. One exception is Asda who stock TNT products. We have a smattering of what we think are the best TNT products in our shop and a bestseller is the 300 shot missile. This year we have noticed that this is also on sale in Asda. Our price is £15 (rather than an rrp of £20) whereas Asda is charging £30 if you buy it as a single and a discount which takes it to £20 is you buy 2 products. We don’t claim to price check everything but if you want a 300 shot missile then buy fireworks and buy cheap fireworks at our Bristol shop.

It’s official – the Beast has been named the spookiest firework in our Bristol Shop. We reckon it looks a bit like a minotaur but if you have any other ideas then please let us know! I’ve been busy today carving our pumpkin for our shop windeow. We usually get one from a certain supermarche that comes with a carving kit for but this year we are avoiding the big supermarkets and buying local so we had to draw the face on ourselves- we think it still looks great. We’ve avoided the nake flame (not a good idea!) and put a green glowstick inside which looks great now the nights are drawing in. If you want to join in the spooky fun then we’ve the beast from Fireworks International on offer if you fancy some cheap fireworks & something spooky for Halloween.

We’ve already sold out of some lines but we have managed to secure some new stock in the form of Crystal Spiders and Catherine Wheels in the Sky with Diamonds. Both are large 69 shot cakes from Kimbolton and are sure to be yet another hit with our customers. We will be adding them to the website tomorrow although we’ve not yet managed to get a video but we are working on it….Don’t hesitate any longer and buy fireworks now!

With halloween falling on the weekend before Bonfire this year cross over parties are popular. What a great idea? combining the drama and fun of both events in to one sounds like a great idea and that’s just what buy Fireworks International have done with their Skeleton Fanfare. Last year we had a dancing skelton lancework at one of our displays which was good fun but they can be a bit tricky to set up. One of our customers thinks he’s discovered a new line of buy fireworks that we have never encountered before. Apparently, Fireworks International Cheeky Cherry not only produces a fabulous cherry effect and has been a bestseller for the past couple of years but it has also claimed the title of the most fragrant firework. Our customer claims to have noticed a fragrant and distinct odour of cherry blossom when firing this cheeky one! He claimed ”it smells better than other fireworks and smells of cherry instead of suplhur”. This is a new one on us but if you have any other scentsational stories about smelly fireworks then please let us know!

Weather – Rain and wind. Most fireworks will fire if you protect them. Clean film, silver foil and bin bags means you get your fireworks off the ground even if the British weather behaves like, British weather! Clean film around the bottom and sides as much as you like but just put one layer across the top. When it blasts off it will just rip straight through it. Wind, is really important make sure the wind is blowing in the opposite direction from you and audience especially if you are in a tight place. If you have rockets and the wind is strong leave them out.
