Aurora Borealis

AURORA

The lucky crew of a West country warship have been treated to the natural spectacular of the Northern Lights during training in the Arctic Circle. The exercise was for cold weather training for 45 Commando. The light show – Aurora Borealis – is caused when solar charged particles get caught in the Earth’s magnetic field and react with other gases in the upper atmosphere. Experts have been reporting that the sun was stirring after a period of low activity. Increased eruptions from the Sun – including solar flares – were expected to make the aurora more frequent event.

But if that’s not frequent enough for you and you don’t want to go to Scotland or Norway then here’s your Answer. Kimbolton have a crackling little number funnily enough called the Aurora Borealis and it’s fantastic. It’s a multi-colour fountain which goes on for ages. It’s category 2  5m so it’s great if your restricted by space and it has some loud whistle noise effects as well. In 2003 it was 3rd in the Fireworks Awards under best category 2 Firework. That year Kimbolton also defended their position as the Best Brand. Since then they won this award for 4 years running despite increasing competition. Let see what happens this year.
