Whistler (AFP) – The night sky above this mountain village lit up Sunday night in a glowing fireworks finale of a winter games organizers say boosted the Paralympic Games to a new level worldwide.

Thousands of fans gathered in rainy Whistler, Canada, to watch a procession of more than 500 disabled athletes representing 44 countries.
Among them was wheelchair user Sean Rose, who carried the British flag after finishing twice in the top ten of two sit skiing events.
