Cowes week sailing regatta traditional ends on the Friday (31st July – 7th August) with it’s traditional Fireworks display. It’s one of the World’s largest with over 1000 yachts and 8000 competitors from beginners to Olympic champions. The big ending with the fireworks was nearly lost as police tried to bill them for their services and the event and lack of funds. But with the good will of some Cowes residents and local business they nearly got he the show back on track. This really is an awesome event and the fireworks make it what it is!
