The change in legislation has meant that this year BIG rockets are only on sale provided they are stored and transported to the customer in a safer way. For our Bristol shop we have installed a special metal cage to store our BIG rockets in…it looks like an ammunition store! Legislation introduced in 2005 called an end to all year fireworks sales unless you have an all year license. Monster Fireworks is licensed to sell fireworks all year both online through its website and shops. Beware of cheap fireworks sold through non reputable temporary shops or market stalls. All fireworks sold in the UK should be made to British Standards. This ensures the safety of your firework and gives you reassurance that it has been properly safety tested. All fireworks sold in the UK must be either category 1 indoor fireworks, category 2 garden fireworks with a safety distance of 5 metres or category 3 25 metres safety distance. Category 4 fireworks are for professional display use only and cannot be sold to the public. All British Standard fireworks will have the safety distance on the packaging.

Monster was Allstars

Sorry for the confusion Monster Fireworks is now the new name for Allstars Fireworks and Bristol Fireworks. Allstars was the retail side and Bristol was the display team. We changed our business name to Monster Fireworks to stop customers getting confused with other firework companies. We use just one name now Monster Fireworks for both retail and display fireworks. We have simply just changed our name and are our shop is still on Gloucester Road.

Online at Yell.com we come up as Monster but in the actual Yellow pages we are still Allstars. When the new edition of Yellow pages becomes available we will be under are new name Monster Fireworks.

Google – Ifireworks or Ioccasions are strictly nothing to do with us. From what we can gather they are based in London and do not operate a shop on Gloucester Road.

There are loads of different names for these type of fireworks some of the more popular ones are: Single ignition, Large cakes, Display in the box etc. They have really caught on in the last couple of years because of their ease of use. For occasions large and small somebody with no pyrotechnic experience can create a professional type display in relative safety. Manufactures have picked up on this trend and now there is a hugely competitive market offering some really great products. Prices start from around £40 and can go up to as much as £175. For example a back garden event with a good general purpose one would cost £60 – £90. This will give you approximately a minute of some highly entertaining effects and possibly with some sort of finale. It is in effect a display in a box with all the clever stuff done for you.
