How to choose a Single Ignition

Although the packaging may look dazzling this is not necessarily the best way to decide. Most of the packaging gets blown off anyway. On our site, we give you a description of the calibre, duration, number of shots and a description of its effects and where possible, a video.

  1. For all single ignitions you will need at least 25m safety distance
  2. Read the short description and play the video to get an idea of its effects
  3. Check the calibre, duration and number of shots

If you're not sure what Vertical, Fanned shaped, calibre, shots etc. means see Pattern Fired Single Ignitions.

Some of the most common questions we get asked:

I want one that lasts 10 minutes?
Single ignitions last between 30 seconds to 3 minutes. Just check the duration - it's marked in seconds. If you want them to last longer then you can use more than one. See Mixed Packs
What does it do?
As well as video, there is also a detailed view which you can select buy clicking on the picture. This contains information on colours and main effects. See effect types
If it has more shots is it better?
Not necessarily. Use the calibre vs. number of shots information. For great fun, we sell a 1500 shot product from Absolute Fireworks. The effects aren't as impressive as one of their 36 shot larger calibre single ignitions. For bigger impact choose a larger calibre.
Do I have enough room?
You need at least 25m between the single ignition and your audience for safety, 35 - 40m would be better as most of the effects take place 25 - 35 in the air anyway and your audience will get better view.
If you are limited by a narrow location...
...or for example have trees to your side, it may be best to choose a vertical firing single ignition. This will fire straight up in the air. Check the video to see if it's firing straight up. Also check the description and make sure it does not mention the word "Fan or Shape".
How high will they go?
Not as high as Rockets but up to 35m. Generally, the larger the calibre the higher it will go. Some have a mixture of calibre sizes which will release their effects at different heights. It's best to watch a video for this.
What is the largest and most expensive single ignition you sell?
Dynasty from Firework International. 3 minutes of different effects and builds up to a spectacular finale. It's an all rounder and great display in a box.
